ARP in detail

Indaver's Acid Recycling Plant (ARP) facility at Tata Steel in IJmuiden was operational in 2001. Tata Steel uses hydrochloric acid to remove rust from steel plates in three so-called pickling lines. Our ARP plant oxidises the contaminated pickling acid. This creates regenerated hydrochloric acid and iron oxide. Tata Steel reuses both raw materials in its production process.

Tata Steel and Indaver engaged in this industrial cooperation to close both cycles 100%, avoiding 50,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions within the chain. Through continuous improvements, the plant is lower-maintenance and more energy-efficient.
